The Government of Vanuatu has appointed the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Ministry of Justice and Community Services (MJCS) to lead the organisation of Children’s Day. This year celebration will be like no other as Vanuatu is also celebrating its 40 years of Independence.

The theme for Children’s Day was revealed on Friday 17 July by the MJCS and the MoET in Jeanne d’Arc school, Port Vila: Children are our future. Valuing and protecting them at home, communities, provinces and National. Both ministries were proud to announce the theme and launch the celebrations. The Vanuatu 40 Years Independence Anniversary celebration spirit started to spread as the colours of Vanuatu flag and Yumi40 were proudly displayed in Jeanne d’Arc school.

The Director of Education Services, Mr. Samuel Katipa, stated “We are inviting parents and communities to join the celebration of Children’s Day. The theme of this is in line with the theme of Vanuatu 40th Independence Anniversary, Prosperity for Self-Reliance and a Resilient Future. Children are the future of the nation. It is our duty to protect them daily despite the natural or personal challenges we face.”
